Nobody ever expects to get addicted. There are endless explanations of why somebody is trying on a drug or behavior. Curiosity and social pressure motivate others, while others are searching for a way to alleviate tension. There is a higher chance of having a substance abuse problem down the road for children who grow up in households where drugs and alcohol are present.
