What To Do When Your Teenage Daughter Keeps Running Away! & A Fathers Out Cry For Justice!!

What to do when your teenage daughter runs away?

To have a child run away from home is the worst nightmare for any parent. Perhaps more surprising, however, is the fact that almost all teenagers have at least once thought of running away. Not all of them just follow through with it.

Know the teenagers that run away are just like every other teen. They are not bad children. They have just made the wrong decision. They got caught up in something, or experience stresses that they felt the need to escape. Instead of discussing and addressing their problems, they decided to run from them.

Equally, teen runaway parents aren't terrible parents. Indeed, a study of the children who call the National Runaway Switchboard shows that only 16 percent of the runaways who call were mentally, emotionally, or sexually abused. In reality, children of violence appear to hang around several times and do not run away from the situation.

Running away often has to do with something the teen got into like drug use or hanging out with the wrong crowd. Most times it's because they have made a poor decision and fear the consequences. And it's about power, sometimes.

For example, when adolescents believe their parents are suffocating them, being too strict, behaving violently, or bullying them, they may think that they want to escape. Running away is one way to go about this. That is the best way to assert autonomy in their minds. And, they also fail to take into account the risks involved.

Moreover, almost every teen has seen or knows someone who has run away. This becomes a challenge since some also glamorize running away. So it seems like a better choice when they start thinking about it than it actually is.
